Lykins is First in Area to Offer Environmentally Friendly Heating Oil

Lykins Companies will be the first company in the Greater Cincinnati area to offer Bio Heat, heating oil made from the blending of conventional heating oil and heating oil made from soy beans.
 

Lykins Companies president, Jeff Lykins says all current and new heating oil clients will get Bio Heat starting December 15th. “Bio Heat is a renewable fuel source that is environmentally friendly. And using Bio Heat helps cut our dependency on foreign oil.” Lykins says Bio Heat works the same and costs the same as traditional heating oil, but has many other long-term benefits that traditional heating oil does not.
 

Lykins also supplies other environmentally friendly products, including E-85. Recently, Lykins was the first company in the area to provide this environmentally friendly motor fuel, which is a blend of 85 percent ethanol and just 15 percent gasoline. Ethanol is derived from crops, mainly corn in the Midwest. Lykins Companies is supplying the Marathon in Mariemont with E85, which is the first and only station in the area that currently sells this product.
